Meet Our Team

Dr. Jeannie Tiong-Walker  B.V.Sc (Massey)
Practice Owner

I have always wanted to be a veterinarian even from a young age. Growing up in Malaysia I always had a collection of cats and dogs that needed looking after.

I gained my veterinary degree from Massey University in Palmerston North in 2002.  After brief stints in practice in Christchurch, I took a different career path and joined MPI working in the field of verification and inspection of animal import and export.  However, I have always wanted to develop my career in clinical practice and Village Vets has provide me with that opportunity.  I continue to expand my knowledge and am enjoying the experience of meeting new people and helping with the care of their animals.  I have developed a specific interest in animal nutrition and am happy to talk to you about what is best for your pet – we are what we eat after all.

Dr. Rodney Walker  B.V.Sc (Massey)
Veterinarian

Coming from MPI back into clinical practice has certainly reminded me how much variety there is in the day to day role of a clinical practitioner.  Having previously worked in the Animal Products and live animal export areas it is certainly a change to be dealing with the daily problems of the local pet population.  Having had many years of clinical experience in large and companion animal practice, both in New Zealand and in the UK I know how important and precious people's pets are to them.  I want to continue to work hard on building the good reputation we have at Village Vets for providing a caring, friendly and experienced service.  It is important to me to develop Village Vets into a valuable community resource for the good folk of north Wellington and hope to see the practice continue to grow and provide help and advice for your furry friends.  Look forward to meeting you at the clinic soon

Dr. Saskia Mailer  B.V.Sc (Massey)

Anna Cade
Receptionist

Raised in New Plymouth and have owned a huge array of pets from dogs to helping orphaned possums, I have had a passion for animals since I was very little, and has carried through into my adulthood.

I have a bright, bubbly personality and enjoy the contact with public and of course their pets.

I have a special role at Village Vets coordinating the Cattery - I get to know all boarders really well over time. They all have different personalities and I know about their likes and dislikes!  Come and talk to me if you are looking for a good cattery for your feline friends :)

Andrea Clark  National Cert Animal Care
Receptionist

I am a career change aspirant who is pursuing an interest in animal care and veterinary nursing after having worked in financial/administrative.  Caring for, learning about and supporting companion animals and their caregivers is where my enthusiasm and passion lies.

Leanne Binet
